Course Description: This presentation introduces an evidence-based approach for clinicians working with dysregulated and self-critical youth. Utilizing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and the DNA-V developmental framework, this training goes beyond traditional cognitive restructuring. Clinicians will learn how to guide youth in transforming their relationship with negative thoughts, fostering self-compassion, and courageously living in alignment with their values.

This program is designed to work alongside and enhance ongoing individual therapy for adolescents facing anxiety and depression. By utilizing Acceptance Commitment Therapy and DBT skills, the program seeks to foster a teen's cognitive flexibility and adaptability in several key areas, including: Emotional regulation, Self-Compassion and Relationship Effectiveness

Working with mandated, ambivalent, or highly dysregulated adolescents often feels adversarial, as traditional authoritarian approaches trigger resistance. This presentation begins to equip clinicians with a powerful, transdiagnostic toolkit integrating DBT, ACT/DNA-V, and MI. Learn to shift from "fixing" resistant teens to guiding them toward "flexible strength" and a life worth living.
