ABOUT ME

“I won't just survive. Oh, you will see me thrive. Can't write my story. I'm beyond the archetype. I won't just conform. No matter how you shake my core. 'Cause my roots they run deep. Oh, ye of so little faith. Don't doubt it, don't doubt it. Victory is in my veins. I know it, I know it. And I will not negotiate. I'll fight it, I'll fight it. I will transform.

When, when the fire's at my feet again, and the vultures all start circling. They're whispering, you're out of time. But still, I rise. This is no mistake, no accident. When you think the final nail is in, think again. Don't be surprised, I will still rise!” – Katy Perry

I received my bachelor's degree in education from Graceland University. I later earned a master's degree in multidisciplinary studies from Webster University, a master's degree in Sociology and Psychology from Baker University, and I am currently working on my master's degree in counseling psychology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. (UMKC). I am passionate about developing relationships with individuals who are seeking to work on their mental health. I have experience in working with diverse populations through their mental health journey. I specialize in anxiety, depression, sleep issues, grief, trauma, and PTSD.

I use a trauma-informed, multiculturally competent Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approach in counseling, and also apply Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), because each individual is unique on how they respond to treatment. I desire to create a safe, compassionate, warm, welcoming environment where clients can start the healing process. I use evidence-based practices and bring a compassionate style and technique to help you begin your recovery process.
